In late 2024, Fox Woodwork launched its popular woodworking classes, inviting beginners and seasoned crafters alike to get hands-on experience in the shop. Students learn woodworking techniques such as hardwood selection, design, gluing, clamping, cutting, and sanding, while crafting their one-of-a-kind projects.
In 2025, we’ll continue offering our signature woodworking classes and introduce new classes, featuring a variety of unique and useful projects.
DIY Cutting Board Class
Duration: 5 hours (including a 1-hour break for glue to cure, with breakfast included).
Join our DIY woodworking class and work with a variety of premium hardwoods, including white oak, walnut, hard maple, hickory, ash, cherry, alder, and more. You’ll design and create your own custom cutting board by selecting from pre-cut wood blanks and crafting a personalized pattern. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a beautiful, handcrafted cutting board and a solid understanding of essential woodworking skills.
Floating House Number Sign Class
Our Floating House Number Sign Class is a great introduction to woodworking and a perfect way to enhance your curb appeal. In this class, you’ll build a custom house number sign using cedar sourced from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. You’ll finish the sign with a durable, outdoor-grade oil-based finish, ensuring it can withstand the elements. The house numbers, made locally in Montague, MI, are made powder-coated aluminum, providing long-lasting durability. Choose your favorite color to personalize your sign.
